Sequential Degenerate

(via latest episode of FREAKANGELS)
I have to admit, when I first tried to get into this comic, it didn’t click with me. I suppose it was my own fault, not reading far enough back into the archives to get into the momentum and history of it all, but now I’m glad I’ve done it.
It’s a post-apoc comic set in a flooded London, in a community run by the eponymous Freakangels themselves - a ‘family’ of psychics (who, unbeknownest to most of the world, are responsible for the near-destruction of Earth) Right now, they’re having to deal with the second member of their family going bad. If you’ve got a free afternoon, check it out. Comes out in weekly episodes of 6 pages earch.
Of course, I could of just mentioned that this is a free comic written by Warren Ellis, and you’d be all over it, yeah?

Teaser trailer for the new Iron Man Anime series.

Now, I have to admit, I’m a big sucker for the ol’ tried-and-true genre of Holy Fuck Big Robots, and from the footage here, it looks like this series is going to inherit that spirit, if not scale (although odds are the Hulkbuster armour that’ll inevitabily show up will be Ecksbawks Heug)

It’ll be interesting just how ‘anime’ this whole thing will remain. I’m not a big fan of Japanese animation - the art style works, sometimes, but I’m not one of those types to love it beyond question just because it’s from Japan. It’s being helmed by one Warren Ellis though, so that gives me hope that they can match the visual flair with a storyline that’s just as energetic and interesting.

Here’s hoping.
